Start the homeschool day with everyone together in ritual and collective learning.
Scale up to homeschooling multiple children by combining subjects that can be combined (ie "there's no such thing as 'third-grade history'").
Call it "morning time", "symposium", or "convocation".
Loop scheduling: instead of scheduling days, schedule a loop of subjects that get done in order, even if a day is skipped.
Ritual can be lighting a candle, singing the hymn of the month, a greeting:
Parent: "Let us remember"
Children: "That we are in the presence of the Holy God"
