Homemade Cheesy Garlic Croutons
Yield: Garnishes 4 bowls of soup
- 2-4 slices day-old bread
- 4 Tbsp. butter
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- pepper to taste
- 1/2-1 c. shredded cheddar
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees and line a baking sheet with foil. Tear bread into 1" cubes. Melt butter in small bowl; stir in garlic and pepper. Add bread cubes and toss to coat. Spread in single layer on baking sheet and bake 10-15 minutes until crispy. Top with cheese and bake 3-7 minutes more, until cheese is melted and croutons are crsipy. Serve with soup or salad.
